Arecaceae. Native, a canoe plant, and distributed along other coasts within the Pacific. Found all over Kaua’i with a grove of these trees holding exceptional status along both sides of Kuhio Highway in Waipouli. No IUCN status.
Leaves: large linear lanceolate leaflets, pinnately compound, spiral arrangement.
Flowers: small, green, spadix inflorescences within a spathe.
